The signs of itchy scalp are gray flake like structure falling from scalp which would cause irritation. The fungus multiplies in number and cause skin irritation by shedding the old cells which is known as dandruff. Flaking is the most common symptom of dandruff and itchy scalp.

Treatment for itchy scalp is available in many methods. Homemade remedies include massage the scalp with almond oil, aloe Vera gel, applying tea tree oil or cider vinegar to the hair and washing. You can also exfoliate the scalp by increasing the shedding of old skin cells. Apply apple cider vinegar with water on the scalp and gently massage and leave it for 20 minutes and shampoo it properly.

You can repeat this simple treatment weekly thrice or twice depending on the itchy dandruff. Apply warm oils like olive oil or almond oil into the scalp and gently massage it with your fingers. Hot oil treatment is very effective in removing dandruff and clearing dead cells.

If no homemade treatment works out you can visit the dermatologist for getting a prescribed medicated shampoo for clearing itchy scalp.
