Warts are small flesh colored bumps on the skin making it dry and hard. Warts are caused by group of virus by name Human Papilloma virus. Plantar warts would grow only on the sides of the feet. Flat warts are those tiny bumps that appear on the face and thighs. Filiform warts are one that grows on your neck and below the chin and periungual warts occur on the nails of toes and fingers. Warts are always a nuisance, ugly structures causing discomfort and sometimes pain.
Warts are contagious until it dries out. Hence be careful not to touch it with your fingers and you may accidentally spread to other parts of the body. 1 .Garlic Bandage
Garlic is an effective antiseptic and can naturally fight and destroy virus and other microorganisms. All you need to do crush 2-3 pieces of garlic pods and place it on the warts and wrap bandage around it. Wait for half-an-hour and wash the area after removing the garlic. Antibacterial property of the garlic would create caustic effect on the warts which would wither and fall off. You can repeat this simple remedy for a week to get rid of the warts.
2 .Vinegar Solution
You can try applying apple cider vinegar solution on the warts area. Dip a cotton ball on the solution and keep it directly on the warts and gently cover it. The action of apple cider would turn warts into black color indicating its decay. By repeating this process for a week or more, the warts would gradually wither and fall.
3 .Cover It With Duct Tape
Simply keep the warts covered with a piece of duct tape. You have to wait for 6 days to get the result. After this period, when you remove the tape the warts would have decayed gradually. Now soak the area in warm water for few minutes, and remove the dead skin cells using pumice stone. If the warts are still stubborn, you need to repeat the process until you get the result.
4 .Paste Of Vitamins
Crush few pieces of Vitamin C tablets and add few drop of water to make a thick paste. Apply this paste directly on the wart and keep it covered with duct tape or bandage. Repeat this for few days or until the warts wither to fall off.
5 .Cold Compression
To reduce itching of warts you can apply wet clothing over it or use cotton soaked in vinegar for getting better results.
6 .Stem Of Some Plants
You can easily treat warts with some of the plants in your yard. Break the stem of dandelion and you can see some fluid oozing out of it. Apply this liquid directly on the warts. Branch of birch (small piece) can be placed on the wart and cover it with tape. Salicylate present in the bark is effective in treating the warts.
7 .Banana Peel
Getting rid of warts has become easier than you think by using banana peel. A small of this peel can be placed over the wart and covered with duct tape. Leave it for few hours. Lemon peel can also be used for covering the warts.
8 .Raw Potato
You can rub a piece of raw potato on the warts. Repeat this remedy for several days.
9 .Basil
Basil is enriched with elements of antibacterial and antiviral property. Applying basil leaves on the warts can gradually shrink the warts eventually getting rid of it. This is one of the natural ways for removing warts. Crush few leaves of fresh basil and rub them on the warts. You can also apply the crushed leaves over the warts and cover it with a tape. After few days you can find the warts would flake off giving way for new layer of skin.
10 .Castor Oil
Castor oil has excellent anti-inflammatory property and you can apply few drops of castor oil over the warts. Alternatively you can also use vitamin E oil also. Soak a cotton ball in castor oil and place it on the warts and cover it with a tape. Leave it overnight. By repeating this simple remedy for a week the warts are gone forever.
11 .Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera gel can be used to heal the warts. If you have this plant on your backyard, you can crush some leaves to apply few drops of the liquid over the warts.
12 .Water
Water is a powerful remedy for removing warts. Soak the affected area in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes. To get improved effect you can add a handful of crystal salt in the water. Repeat this process several times a day. The dry hardened skin of the warts would get soft when kept in water for several minutes. You can rub the skin with pumice stone or emery board to remove the dead skin cells. Alternatively you can add Epsom salt in hot water and immerse your feet in it. This treatment is highly effective in removing warts.
13 .Baking Soda
Make a paste of baking soda and white vinegar solution. Apply this paste over the warts and leave it overnight. Repeat this remedy for a week and the warts would gradually wither and fall. Mixture of baking soda and castor oil can also be used to get the desired effect.
14 .Tea Tree Oil
Tea plants are natural antiviral agents good enough for fighting warts. Dilute the tea tree oil with water and apply few drops on the warts. Leave it for a while for the skin to absorb it. Repeat this many times a day. Medicated oil is effective in destroying the virus causing warts and you can see the results within a week. The color of the warts would turn black indicating the cells inside it are dead.
