Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm

The largest part of the cell which fills the entire cell is called as cytoplasm. It contains jelly like watery substance in which all the organelles of the cell floats. The gel is usually thick and semisolid in nature. Cytoplasm is also called as cytosol which means cell substance. It forms the essential part of the entire cell which gives life to the cell and hence the name cytosol is given for cytoplasm. Cytoplasm holds together all the particles of a cell through fatty membrane tissue. In the middle of cytoplasm a big nucleus is present surrounded by nuclear membrane.

The cytoplasm is the fundamental part of any cell in our body. It also contains cytoskeleton which are filaments involved in the movement of cell and shaping the cell. Cytoplasm performs various functions and it contains nutrients which help to clear off waste products from the cell. It also AIDS in moving of particles from in and out of cell through cytoplasmic membrane. Due to the nature of its content, cytoplasm can conduct electricity and it serves as a platform for the vesicles of the cell. The cytoplasm is very much essential for the function of all organelles in the cell and hence it is responsible for the survival of cell.
