Stomach ache, also known as Abdominal Pain is a common ailment that everyone has experienced more than once in their life. While there are a myriad of reasons for stomach ache, ranging from irritable bowel syndrome to GERD to a simple indigestion, it may not be easy to find the cause. The good news is that most causes are not serious and the symptoms relieve easily. Having said that, even a mild stomach ache can be annoying and you may want to get a quick relief. Here are a few stomach ache remedies that you can try straight out of your kitchen!1. Alleviate Upset Stomach With Rice TeaWho knew our love hate relationship with rice could help us with an aching stomach too? Turns out rice tea is a wonderful remedy for an upset stomach.
- Boil half a cup of rice in about 6 cups of water.
- Let it cook for about 15 minutes
- Strain the water in a mug and flavour with some honey if you like.
- Drink it lukewarm.
- Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a cup of warm water
- Add a dash of honey for taste
- Cut a piece of ginger into small pieces.
- Add to a pan of boiling water and let it boil for few minutes and strain the tea in a cup.
- Mix honey to taste and sip slowly
- Drink this ginger tea twice or thrice a day to get relief from stomach pain and discomfort.
- Take a glass of lukewarm water and add a pinch of asafoetida, mix well. Drink two to three times daily. You can also add pinch of rock salt.
- You can also swallow a lentil size piece of it with a glass of water if you don’t like the taste.
- Alternatively, you can also add a teaspoon of it to hot water, dip a small cloth in it and keep it on stomach for ten to fifteen minutes. Repeating the procedure several times a day soothes stomach cramps. This is an age old remedy for treating stomach pain in infants. You need to remember that the water has to be hot, not lukewarm.
- Take teaspoon of dried chamomile leaves and put it in a cup
- Add boiling water and cover the cup
- Allow to steep for about fifteen minutes
- Strain it and add honey or lemon juice as per taste and sip slowly
- You can have it two to three times in a day
- You can also sip some ready-made chamomile green tea if you cannot get hold of chamomile leaves.
- Add teaspoon of baking soda, juice of one lemon and 1/4th teaspoon of salt to one glass of warm water
- Drink it immediately or else will not be effective as fizz fizzles out
- Repeat it two to three times in a day till you get relief from stomach ache
- To prepare the tea, take a teaspoon of dried peppermint and add it to a cup of boiling water
- Steep it for about ten minutes. Strain, add honey and drink slowly
- If you do not like the tea, chew fresh mint leaves slowly two to three times a day for instant relief.
- Keep one or two cinnamon stick in a bowl and pour boiling hot water over it.
- Cover and let it steep for ten minutes.
- Drink the tea slowly.
- You can choose to add some honey or ginger powder to reap more effect.
