Reasons of Left Side Abdominal Pain
There exist several reasons for getting abdominal pain in men and women. The causes vary widely ranging from simple gas problem to severe kidney infection.
There can be mild to moderate pain in the abdomen due to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, bowel movements and Constipation problem. Sometimes accumulated gas can also cause pain in the stomach region. The muscles and skin layer on the left side of the abdomen gets affected by constipation and bloating sensation and can cause pain. Other major causes are stomach ulcer, Heartburns, Gastritis, and tumor in stomach, diverticulitis, and presence of ulcerative colitis in stomach, Crohn’s syndrome and Ovarian Cyst problem.
If there is infection in appendix it can cause moderate to severe abdominal pain. Presence of stone in kidneys, gall bladder and infection in kidney can trigger the pain. Hernia may develop on the cavity of the abdomen when the person tries to pull or lift heavy objects. Mild food poisoning and food Allergy can also induce pain in the stomach.
In rare cases, when there is leakage in abdomen due to rupture of blood vessel it can cause acute pain in the central region of the stomach. The pain intensifies to the back region thus collapsing the person. Immediate medical attention is necessary for saving the life, in such circumstances.
